Diploma & Short Term Courses

  • For the purpose of human resource development with theoretical and practical exposure in the field of cooperative sector, Institute is conducting following courses: 

    A.   Higher Diploma in Cooperative Management, HDCM Regular/Correspondence) 26 Weeks

    B.   Diploma in Handloom Cooperative Management (12 Weeks)

    A. Higher Diploma in Cooperative Management, HDCM (Regular/Correspondence)

    For the purpose of Human Resource Development with theoretical and practical exposure in the field of cooperative sector, Institute offers Higher Diploma in Cooperative Management (Regular/Correspondence) 26 Weeks.

    Objective

    • The main objective of introducing the H.D.C.M at this institute is to Motivate the members and managing committee to participate in the management of co-operative enterprises;
    • Through this course, the cooperative personals may develop their skills and knowledge while being active on the job.

    Duration: 26 Weeks (182 days)

    Intake : 30 Participants

    Admission to the programme

    • Personnel working in Co-operative department and cooperative institutions with minimum qualification of graduation.
    • Private candidate, fulfilling the minimum required qualification, can also be admitted. Selection of Private candidates will be made through open test to be conducted at each ICM.
    • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes candidates will be admitted as per the norms fixed in this behalf by the Govt. of India.
    • Maximum 40 years, relaxable in special cases.

    Pedagogy

    As the focus of the course is on improving decision making skills, experiential method, role plays, in basket exercise, group discussions and presentations are used. The focus of class sessions in on developing skills and attitudes through active student participation rather than on summarising the reading materials through lectures. The participants are expected to study the recommended literature, cases and exercise materials on their own and discuss within small groups outside the class room.

    Practical Training

    On completion of the first term the participants will be deputed for observation study inside and outside to a co-operatively well-developed state.

    During the second term two weeks placement / Project Study tour will be assigned to participants inside the state.

    B. DIPLOMA IN HANDLOOM COOPERATIVE MANAGEMENT (D.H.C.M.) 12 weeks.

    Objectives

    • To develop decision making skills of managers in handloom cooperatives on all functional areas of management.
    • To disseminate both conceptual and applied knowledge relevant to the management of handloom cooperatives.
    • To inculcate right attitudes towards cooperative way of managing business.

    Duration: 12 Weeks (84 days)

    Intake : 30 Participants

    Admission to the programme:

    • Secretaries and managers working in the primary handloom cooperatives.
    • Middle level personnel working in State level cadres and Central handloom and all India federation of Handloom Cooperatives.
    • Middle level personnel in the department of handlooms and textiles who are incharge of Handloom Cooperatives.
    • Education instructors of the NCUI and State Cooperative Unions.
    • The age of those admitted to the course is expected to be below 40. However, it is relaxable in case of deserving candidates.
    • The basic essential educational qualification is a Bachelors degree. However, S.S.C passed with an experience of three years in a handlooms weavers cooperative society at the supervisory level could also be considered
